Fishy sounding Payday loan debt?
I had a online payday loan I took out in 04′. I made 3 or 4 payments b4 I lost my job and forgot all about it. Well, the company quickpayday loans went out of business and another company bought the account. I had that other company call me after over 6 yrs since I took out the loan. I had every intention of paying it but the 2 different reps at the company gave me 2 different info’s as to acct #, the name of the company they were with, 2 different amounts I supposidly owe, and the phone number comes up a man out of Atlanta GA. With Credit Card fraud and identity theft, I couldnt trust the misleading ifo they were providing. When I asked the one rep this morning for quickpayday loans‘ contact info, prior to knowing they were no longer in business, she said they were no longer in business, her company bought out the business, and I was not wanting to pay it. I told her that if I didnt want to pay it, I wouldnt have made 3 or 4 payments before loosing me job, of whom I used my work email as contact info, I wouldnt have made 7-8 calls to them in the last 4 days to try to rectify this, that the only reason I am not giving my creditcard info over the phone is being they sound suspicious, identity theft, and I wanted written proof showing I owe this so I have it for my records to pay it. She started threatening me saying they will take me to court, and I was trying to get away with no paying them. I told her ma’m take me to court and I hope you have recorded every conversation I have had with your company and I will inform the judge that you all have diff stories, different info. That I have no problem paying a debt I owe but I want proof and you all have not called me, my # has been the same for 10yrs, mailed me any proof, and you come out of the woodworks and just expect me to give you creditcard info? Fine take me to court. She made it seem like they’re gonna throw me in jail!!!! I figure they cant take what I dont have so….I can only let them take me to court, and pay what I can If the judge tells me to….can you tell me what you think or what ?????

The Expert answers:
The threats are ridiculous. They can’t throw you in jail over a civil matter. This sounds like it’s a bit too old for them to be chasing up. I have no doubt debt may be bouncing around, but I agree – send me proof and then I’ll talk to you. If they are unwilling to do something that simple, you have no guarantee they have the correct amount, are legally entitled to collect and will actually properly record the debt has been paid.
These people use a lot of illegal or dodgy tactics. They cannot have you thrown in jail. Make a record of everything they say and if they get to the courts, show it to the judge. Oh and never, ever give companies like this your credit card info or bank statements. NEVER.

Lizzie asks…
How easy is it to get a pay day loan?
I have been surfing various online pay day loan websites. I was just wondering how easy is it to get a pay day loan after you complete their application?
As near as I can tell, these are the main requirements to get a loan:
A full credit check is not needed.
One must be currently employed or have some other regular source of income (at least 6 months or more).
There is a minimum income requirement.
One must have a U.S. bank account that is in good standing.
One must be at least 18 years of age.
One must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
So what else is usually needed? I was surprised that some companies state that they do not do a credit check and or do not need any fax documentation. Though my credit is not too good, but I am employed, and can provide pay check stubs. Yet I was curious to know how can companies provide a payday loan between $100 to $1,500 without some sort of verification process? Do they call to verify employment? Do they call the bank to see if the bank account in good standing? Do they usually take one’s Social Security number? Is it harder to get their maximum loan amount (i.e. $1,500)?
Is it possible to get (2) two of these type pay day loans about the same time (from 2 different companies), as long as the repayment money is in the bank account when the pay day company goes to collect their repayment money, via an electronic withdrawal?
What are some of the things that could happen where one WOULD NOT be approved for a pay day loan, upon meeting the basic requirements?

The Expert answers:
My lady works for a payday loan office. One reason they will decline a loan is if the person seems suspect. Meaning appear to b a drug addict, or they just have no intent to pay back. Now of course all this is if u go into a office. Yes they will call ur current job to verify employment. U also have to bring in copy of ur most recent bank statement. From what my lady tells me most of these companies deny u if u have a open loan with another company. And forget the title loans too. They dont even care if u have a job because they want to repo ur car.

Donald asks…
which is good site to get cash fast?
like from the online same day cash or payday loan

The Expert answers:
You are setting yourself up for financial disaster if you do one of these loans. Expand your question. Why do you need cash real fast? If you expand on why you need it I bet we could come up with a better solution. Payday loans are the edge of a slippery slope. A step you do NOT want to take.
The thing is with payday loans is you do not have the money to pay what you have to pay for. You won’t be any more better off on payday and then you’ll get another payday loan to pay that off. This cycle will continue and continue until you have a LARGE loan you owe on something that didn’t need alot of money to pay off. Now do you see the slippery slope? You’ll basically keep borrowing money over and over to pay one payday loan after the other. I know of very few people who don’t get caught in that tangled web.
These people prey upon lower income people. You don’t see these types of businesses in the upscale part of town, do you?
